This is yet another "KOB" Kumihimo Outside of the Box creation from The Jewelry Instructor! The Swarovski Crystal Rivoli was my inspiration for creating these earrings using the Japanese braiding technique of Kumihimo. The Rivoli is encased between 2 rows of Super Duo beads, and there is a very little bead weaving done to cinch the stone into place. The braid structure used in these earrings is Kongo Gumi. There are approx. (1) gram of size 15, & (3) grams of size 11 seed beads used in this counted pattern, along with C-Lon Cord TEX 135, and a pair of 12mm Swarovski Rivoli stones. Create these earrings in so many color combinations, this pattern can be used as pendants also. The finished size of these earrings are approximately 1.75 in length. *There are Kumihimo Bead markers used in this tutorial. If you are loading on both pair of earrings at one time, the markers help with getting your cords back to the original positions to start the second earring. You can choose to create one earring at a time, or you can use a personal preference on getting your cords back to original braiding position.
